     Main Street is PA 199.  From the intersection south of Athens of US 220 and PA 199,  proceed north on PA 199 about 15 blocks.  The church building is on the left.

Brief History:
    A Methodist class was organized here in 1832.  Services were held in the Academy until a church building was erected on Chemung Street in 1844.  That structure burned in 1951 and another structure was erected on the same site.  The brick edifice at the present site was erected in 1884.

From the borough of Troy, go 4 miles north on PA 14 to Springfield Road (at Columbia Crossroads).  Go 4 miles east on Springfield Road to Big Pond Road.  Go 2 miles north on Big Pond Road.  The church building is on the right.

Brief History:
     Camp meetings were held in this area as early as the 1860’3, but the closed organized Methodist congregation was in East Smithfield.  The “Mount Pisgah Praying Band” was organized in 1874 and held meetings over a wide area that resulted in hundreds of converts.   By 1883, the need was felt for a church building in Big Pond.  The present building was dedicated in 1884 and extensively remodeled in 1958.  In 2000, Big Pond and Wetona united to form Faith Community UMC – and holding services and engaging in ministry at both campuses.

     From the intersection in Wyalusing of US 6 and PA 706, go 6 miles northeast on PA to the village of Camptown.  The church building is on the left, just after the intersection with PA 409.

Brief History:
     About 1861 property was purchased in Camptown for a parsonage for the Wyalusing circuit.  There was a small class here at that time, which met at first in the school house and later in the Baptist church after it was completed.   The site for their own church was purchased from Almon Tuller for $200 – with the society paying half and Mr. Tuller donating the rest. The building was dedicated January 9, 1882.  The society was incorporated 4/8/1901 as “The First M<ethodist Episcopal Church of Camptown.”

8. Herrickville United Methodist Church

Herrickville is 6 miles north of Camptown on Herrickville Road, the road that goes straight north from the intersection in Camptown where PA 706 and PA 409 meet.  The church is south of the main intersection in Herrickville, on the east side of the road.

This building was dedicated January 26, 1893.  The class was formed by members of the discontinued Grove schoolhouse appointment and started meeting every other Sunday evening in the Wesleyan Church.  When this arrangement was no longer agreeable, the class erected its own building.

From Wyalusing go ˝ mile south to the Wyalusing-New Albany Road.  Go west (across the river) on the Wyalusing-New Albany Toad ˝ mile to PA 187 (immediately on the west side of the bridge).  Go south on PA 187 to the village of Hollenback. The church is just off PA 187.  In the village of Hollenback, go straight for 0.25 miles when PA 187 veers to the left.  The church is on the right.

Hollenback was originally part of the Terrytown charge of the Central New York Conference.  When that charge disbanded, Hollenback petitioned to join the Wyalusing charge of the Wyoming Conference.  This change of conferences was granted at the 1948 jurisdictional conference.

Brief History:
    
This class met in the Chubbuck home until the Orwell Valley schoolhouse was erected, and in the schoolhouse until the present structure was erected as a union church building in 1867.

Brief History:
     In 1848 subscriptions were circulated to erect a church a church building at Rome, a lot across from the cemetery having been given by Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Vought to the Orwell trustees for a church “free to all eho may desire it for funeral occasions.”

 Spring Hill Road, which heads north from Laceyville, is east of and parallel to PA 706, which heads north from Wyalusing.   From Wyalusing take PA 706 3 miles north to Turkey Path Road.  Turn east on Turkey Path Road and go 3 miles to Spring Hill Road.  Turn south on Spring Hill Road and go 1 mile.  The church is on the right.

This class began in 1832 as a Sunday School meeting in the White School house.  It has been part of the Wyalusing charge since 1855.  The church building was dedicated December 18, 1867.

This building was dedicated August 23, 1856.  The class was part of the Rome circuit until 1870, when it was placed on the Herrick circuit – which was the predecessor of the present Camptown charge.

The appointment is mentioned in William Colbert’s 1792 diary as part of Tioga circuit.  The Wyalusing circuit was formed from the lower part of the Tioga circuit in 1814.  The church here was dedicated November 23, 1854.  It was enlarged and rededicated in 1878, and again in 1885.
